The poll results are IN! And the Gorge’s best burger (by ONE vote) is….
The XXX Burger!!! Located in White Salmon, Washington, Everybody’s Brewing is a great place for groups and casual dining. Their shuffle board tables make it an ideal spot to bring the kids, and their deck rocks a fantastic view of Mt. Hood. On the weekends, you can usually hear live music, including our favorite one man band, Tony Smiley.
Henni’s Kitchen and Bar gave the folks at Everybody’s a serious run for their money. Also located in White Salmon (directly across the street, to be exact), Henni’s offers a more upscale dining experience. Is there such a thing as an “artisan burger”? If so, Henni’s does it well. Their burger is ground from locally grown Mountain Shadow chuck beef, served on a brioche bun, with housemade pickles. Ask for a side of tots–they are so good!
Write in votes were cast for:
The Sixth Street Bistro & Loft in downtown Hood River. Many people prefer their french fries and locals know: ask them to toast your bun!
Cebu Lounge at the Hood River Inn. Their Happy Hour burger and fantastic view is tough to beat!
Chip’s Bar & Grill in Bingen, Washington. Whaaaaaaat????! These guys had multiple write in votes! Chips is mostly known for their poker tables, but apparently they serve up a mean burger. Admittedly, I’ve not tried it, but in light of this discovery, they are now on my list.
Full Sail Brewing in Hood River. With a spectacular view of the river, Full Sail is a longtime favorite for tourists. We are big fans of their Session Lagers.
Trillium Cafe in downtown Hood River. Known for their live music, Trillium has a laid back vibe.
And if he happens to be in town, when you’re done with your burger, go check this guy out (you’ll need a 5 Hour Energy to keep up with him):
